Zoo Mourns Loss of Asian Elephant

 SAN ANTONIO ZOO MOURNS LOSS OF ASIAN ELEPHANT BOO

The San Antonio Zoo is sad to announce the loss of Boo, a female Asian elephant, who was euthanized yesterday after debilitating weakness had become apparent and quality of life had vanished.

The Zoo’s senior veterinarian Dr. Rob Coke and his staff had performed several tests to determine the cause of Boo’s declining health. Specific blood tests revealed abnormal white blood cells indicative of lymphoma or blood cancer.

Boo was 59 years old; she will be greatly missed.
