Join the San Antonio Zoo Today

As a member of the San Antonio Zoo, you enjoy exclusive benefits while supporting an organization that plays a vital role in wildlife education and conservation.

Summer Member Hours are 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Memorial Day - Labor Day.

Summer member ours is a MEMBERS ONLY chance to see how the Zoo wakes up.  Watch as keepers prepare exhibits for the day and enjoy a stroll through the beautiful Zoo grounds before the heat and the crowds.

Please watch out for vehicles, wheelbarrows, and water hoses along the pathways, as the Zookeepers and Maintenance Staff will still be doing their morning rounds.  Some animals may not be on exhibit before 9am.  Concessions, novelties, and stroller rentals do not open until 9am.  Please be sure to have your membership card and photo ID with you for entry.

If you do not already have a membership and wish to visit the Zoo before 9:00 AM, you can purchase a membership online and use the printed receipt as your membership card.

Admission Policy

  • Each named adult MUST present photo ID on each Zoo visit, along with the membership card.

  • Only one membership card needs to be shown for all of the individuals covered by the membership.

  • One of the named adults on the membership card MUST accompany any guests and/or children allowed by the membership.

  • There is a $5 per card fee for a new card(s) due to name or address changes or to replace a lost or stolen card.

  • No changes, except upgrades, will be made to the named adults or category on an active membership until all of the membership cards previously issued have been returned.

  • Membership may be upgraded to a higher level at any time.  There are no discounts for partial year upgrades and upgrading does not extend the expiration date of the membership.

  • Membership cards are non-transferrable.

  • Children under the age of 3 are free.  If a child is not going to turn 3 before the end of your membership year (one year from the date of purchase) then they do not need to be covered by the membership.

  • The number of guests and/or children allowed on a membership is restricted to one visit per day.

  • Each named adult will receive a membership card.  Membership cards are identical, so they can be shared if one is lost.

Beginning January 1, 2014, outside food or drink will no longer be allowed into the Zoo. Exceptions are: bottled water, small snack-sized items, and baby food and formula. Ice chests and coolers will no longer be allowed on Zoo grounds.
