Come see where the wild things are in the quiet of the evening. Zoo staff will take you on an after hours tour to see how resident animals “let down their hair” after the crowds depart. We may even get a chance to hear the hyenas “laugh” and the lions roar.)

A great opportunity to meet the keepers and get an inside look at what they do each day. Following a delicious breakfast at the Riverview Restaurant, keepers will lead the group into their work world and share information about their animals and their responsibilities. These enhanced experiences will provide a view of the Zoo from a keeper’s perspective.

Don’t hesitate, this popular program fills quickly! Bring the family to a great campout experience inside the Zoo, complete with roasting hot dogs on an open fire, sleeping outside in a tent and, of course, animal encounters with an evening Zoo tour. This is a program not easily forgotten!!

Join us to work one-on-one with a professional zookeeper and find out what it really takes to do the job. You’ll provide routine cleaning and maintenance of the animal habitats, prepare and feed diets, monitor health and well-being of the animals and fill out daily reports. Limited availability and other dates may be available with a thirty day advance notice.
