Zoo School
Ages 3–5
9:00 am–2:00 pm
Cost per month: $225/members; $250/nonmembers

Registration Required

Each Tuesday and Thursday of the month, drop off your child at the Education Center for five hours of Zoo education, socializing, energetic play, and up close animal presentations in a pre-school setting. Limited availability.

Wild Beginnings

Cost: $40/members; $60/nonmembers
(Price includes one child and one adult)

Meeting one hour a week for four weeks, this program encourages child/adult interactions in a fun-filled environment with stories, songs, and animal close-ups.

Roots And Shoots

Ages 8 - 12

Join the Zoo’s chapter of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots, and get involved in fun conservation activities each month. Program will include natural history of the animals, issues relating to their conservation, techniques used to study them and ways kids can help with wildlife conservation. Drop off program; parents not required to stay.

Sept. 18 – Tomistomas and crocodilians success stories
Oct. 16 – Monarch butterflies and their journey through San Antonio
Nov. 20 – Cheetah and challenges of captive breeding
Jan. 15 – Micronesian kingfishers and breeding successes at the San Antonio Zoo

S.A.Fari Kids

Come join the wildest club in town – S.A.fari Kids. Meeting once a month, S.A.fari Kids will explore animals around the Zoo while building relationships and skills. New topics each month, and we strongly encourage children to attend regularly so learning can be continuous. Drop off program; parents not required to stay.
