Wet N’ Wild Africa
Do you love to play in water? Well, the animals do too! Come join us as we take a “trip” to Africa and discover how baby hippos, lions, rhinos, crocodiles and many more animals live and play in and around water.

Critters in Motion

Like to walk, run or hop around the playground? Animals run, leap, fly, climb, crawl, hop, waddle, swim, slither and slide. Come watch animals in action and then join in “leap frog” and “animal aerobics,” as we move and play like the animals.

Entering Grades 2-3 and 4-6

Wet N’ Wild Africa
Water is the most unique and valuable resource on Earth. Come join us on a “trip” to Africa to explore the animal life, the unique ways they adapt to live with and without water and conduct experiments with water.

Animal Oddities

How does a gecko stick to a glass panel and then run through a pile of dirt without getting its feet dirty? Are there really flying fish and animals that can walk on water? Discover a world of animal oddities during this fascinating week of adventures.

Entering Grades 6-7
(5th grade if previous Zoo Camp experience)

Zoo Academy - If I Ran the Zoo
Ever wonder what it really takes to run a zoo? Of course animal keepers are important, but it takes the cooperation of departments such as veterinary medicine, education, marketing, and many more to keep the zoo running. Come visit some of these different teams and learn how important each one is to the Zoo and to conservation of wildlife worldwide.

Entering Grades 7-8
Limited to 10 participants

Zoo Academy Road Trip - Think Globally and Act Locally
Have you ever wondered where all your recyclables go after they are picked up by the city? Do you know why it is so important to protect sensitive wild areas? This camp will introduce advanced summer campers to the reality of resource sustainability in and around the city of San Antonio through daily field trips to local natural areas and environmental management sites.
