The San Antonio Zoo is dedicated to saving wildlife and wild places. Help us!

Sponsorship Opportunities

As one of San Antonio’s oldest treasures, the San Antonio Zoo is one of the most important cultural institutions in southern Texas. The collective efforts of dedicated individuals have helped the San Antonio Zoo become one of the best in the nation.

The Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals representing 750 species of animals on 56 acres. More than 950,000 guests visit the San Antonio Zoo annually - 123,000 of those being children participating in education programs and 100,000 school children coming on field trips.

Each year, through special events and innovative programming, the San Antonio Zoo seeks to capture the excitement and the imagination of visitors while helping to continue its active conservation, education, and species preservation programs of local, national, and international impact.

A partnership with the San Antonio Zoo offers opportunities for corporate partners to capitalize on the Zoo’s universal appeal and not only “reach” their audience, but to support one of the community’s greatest cultural resources.

No other sponsorship opportunity in this market offers such a positive response and enthusiasm like sponsorship opportunities at the San Antonio Zoo.

School Group Scholarship Funding

Funding Levels Variable ($5,000 - $50,000)

The San Antonio Zoo is a field trip destination for more than 100,000 school children each year. Because of school district budget constraints this number has fallen from its previous high in the late 1990s of 150,000. San Antonio has some of the poorest school districts in the state and many of them cannot afford to bring their school children to the Zoo. A typical kindergarten class of 135 students needs to raise a minimum of $1000 to afford a trip to the Zoo, which includes busing charges. Therefore, the Zoo utilizes sponsorship money for scholarship opportunities for schools to continue their field trips to the Zoo.

Publication Sponsorships

The Zoo’s publications, all professionally designed, serve as a guide to Zoo activities, events, and educational programs. These publications are widely distributed to various target audiences including member households, corporations, political leaders, and educators.

The following publications are available for sponsorship:

  • News from the Zoo (members’ monthly e-newsletter)
  • Annual Report

Sponsorship Levels Vary based on publication.
